Are you happy with your job?
Are you happy with your job?
We’ve all been raised in a society where career is the main concern. Our parents and our teacher ask us what we want to do when we will grow up. We so stress about our career that we may forgot about what we really want, the biggest concern we all have is how much money we will earn, what is the retirement benefit and the chances of advancement. Our society as we know it is concern primarily for financial success. Financial success is that you want to have in your life? I hope it’s not all you want to accomplish. Considering that most of us are working half of our hour waking hour working at our job. It became an obvious question for all of us. Am I happy with my job?
Being happy with your job, what does it mean?
If you love your job we will be happy to wake up in the morning to go to work. A lot of us think that this is impossible; working is something that you need to do end you just want to get out of your office as fast as possible. Imagine yourself with a job that will exciting for you, challenging and that you will absolutely love to do. Would that be perfect? I’m sure your answer is YES, but these jobs as impossible to find. How a job could be fun, a job is a job and it will always be like that. A lot of people think that the only good thing that you can get from a job is to earn money from it and that’s all!
It’s time to change!
First you need to know what you don’t love about your job. Maybe it’s your boss or that it’s too monotonous for your personality. Whatever it is you need to find it. After that the next thing is to find if you can change something at your job that will make you happier. Maybe there is another post at your job that will fit better your need than what you do now or maybe it’s not enough challenging for you so you may thing of a higher responsibility post.
If there is too much negative thing about your actual job you should think of a new one!
Why should you do that?
Being happy at your job will increase you sense of well-being in all aspect of your life so don’t pass that opportunity that can change your life for good! You don’t want to look at the clock for half of your life do you? It takes a lot of courage to take action and move on in your life. We all love safety and changing job in far from a safety way for a lot of people, but if you choose your next job if you take in consideration your value and interest you won’t regret it.
How to find the good job?
It’s important to take the time to really know what you love to do and what you don’t. To help you with this step I recommend making a list of ten things you love to do. It can be everything; if you love to travel write it, if you love to work with your hand do the same. It doesn’t have to be related to any particular job or career. By doing this you may find something that we’ve never think about and that you may absolutely love. It’s really simple the only thing you need to do is to write what you love to do. Than choose the three things in that list that you will love to receive money for.
Next take the three things you would love to get paid for and make another list. That list will be a little bit different you will still write ten things, but in this one you will write of what service you can provide with what you enjoy. So you will have three different list of what may become your new job! If you have an ecologist mind you can write in that list wildlife protection officer for example. It’s up to you it’s your life you decide what you really want to do for a living! Get clear on what you would enjoy doing and then start looking for it or crating it if you choose that your best bet is to start your own business.
Life is too short to be a non-happy worker all our life we need to take action and find what we truly want in life. Maybe your perfect job will pay a lot less but if you are happy with what you do you will see that money doesn’t matter at all. Money doesn’t buy happiness, so there are no excuses to take no action at all and stay in the job you don’t like.
Am I happy whit my job is a question you should ask to yourself every now and then. If your answer is “no” try to find a way to make your job more fun if you can do that you should think of getting a new one!!
