How to complete your project

Are you frustrated with all the project you start over these years, and that you didn’t finish, or you didn’t have the time to finish it so you abandoned your project after a month are so? I’m sure it happens to everyone here, but is there something you don’t know that could save you for all the dissatisfaction, stress and worry from this. Don’t worry been there done that, I came with an idea to solve this problem.

20/80 rule:

First of all, you need to know the 20/80 rules. This is a powerful strategie to help you complete your project, the rule says that 20% of your work will be done in 80%percents of the time it takes to your project and that 80% of your work will be done in 20% of that time! It’s obvious that this rule is one of the most important if you want to complete a project. Let say you work 40 hours on a project well 80% of the work will be done in only 8 hours. If you can maximize your time you will be able to finish any of your projects in a record time. So before you sit at your computer to work on a project, ask yourself if you are in the flow or do you have all kinds of stuff running in your head. To maximize your work you want to be on top of your game and completely concentrate on one task at a time, when you feel your mind driving away it’s time for a break because you are in the 20/80 and you don’t want that. If you feel that you are in the 20/80 you can work on something else too it might work. Remember that it’s not smart to keep pushing on a project when you are working at your 20% capacity.

Become more organized:

There is a different thing you can do to become more organized. You have to remember that to become more productive you need to be in the flow so all your concentrations go on one project at the time. You can’t keep your mind driving away all the time it can come a serious loss of time. How can you stay in the flow so you can do more work in the same time has you were doing?

Do a to-do list?

You probably already heard of this tips, but if you don’t you use a to-do list you are missing something that could save a bunch of time. I’m not kidding the to-do list is very effective if you have a little of self-discipline, because it forced yourself to do all the things you want to do in a day.

When you arrived at your job sit for two minutes and write down what you have to do for the day. If you feel like you can do a lot much than you do normally, give yourself a challenge and write a lot of to-do; more than you normally do. By doing this you push yourself to give your 100% so you don’t have the time to be distracted! This is the key to that list if you write a list you want to finish it before the end of the day by doing so you push yourself to give more than you will normally give. It ends up with a lot more works done at the end of the day. If you have a large project I recommend doing a to-do list for the whole project in addition of the everyday list. Give it a try it may become your best friends!

Close your outlook box:

Every time you check your email you don’t work on your project. You may say that it takes only ten minutes so it’s not a big deal, but look how often you are looking at your email you will see that the ten minutes become 40 minutes really fast! If you are in a rush at work you don’t want to lose 40 minutes on your emails. It’s not a bad thing to take a look at your outlook box, but you should put a limit on yourself. Like I will look at my email every 3 hours. By looking at your email every 3 hours it will dramatically save you a lot of time because you won’t always be looking for that. Same goes for “Facebook”, “Twitter”, and every other website that you find yourself in too often.

Cut every little thing that wastes your time:

I’m sure that you have something that is wasting a precious time. It may be a little thing but still if it’s wasting your time, and you don’t need it to do you work you should cut on it. You know yourselves so you know what is wasting your time it can be that you take additional 5 minutes on every brake, maybe you take more brake than you should, or you love to talk with your co-worker at the coffee machine. Whatever you are doing if you can cut it give it a try because it will save you some time.
